Our mission
Plumbing pricing in Florida is hard to pin down before you call someone out. Our mission is to make that pricing transparent: to give homeowners free, Florida-specific cost ranges and permit guidance so they can plan a project, set a realistic budget, and recognize a fair quote when they receive one.
Why this site exists
Most homeowners only price a plumbing job a handful of times in their life, while contractors price them every day. That information gap leads to sticker shock and, sometimes, to overpaying. We built 249 interactive calculators and guides—covering everything from water heater replacement to whole-home repipes, slab leaks, gas lines, septic systems and commercial fixtures—to close that gap with clear, no-signup tools.
How our data is collected
Our estimates are built from publicly available Florida cost research and from current plumbing-code and permitting references, not from a proprietary or private dataset. In practice that means we draw on:
- Published Florida labor and material cost ranges for common plumbing tasks.
- The Florida Building Code (Plumbing) and local permitting and inspection requirements.
- Manufacturer specifications for sizing tools (for example, fixture units, gas-line demand and water heater sizing).
- General market pricing for fixtures, equipment and materials sold in Florida.
We describe these sources honestly. We do not claim to operate a private pricing database, and we do not present our ranges as bids tied to a specific contractor.
How our pricing methodology works
Each calculator converts your inputs—things like fixture count, pipe material, system size or home age—into a planning range using documented Florida assumptions. We publish the full approach, including why we show ranges rather than fixed quotes, on our Calculator Methodology page.
How we use AI, and how we review it
Content on this site is generated with AI assistance and reviewed for accuracy by a human before it is published. AI helps us draft and structure cost guidance at scale; a human editor checks the cost assumptions, code references and math for reasonableness. When we find an error, we correct it—our process for that is described in our Editorial Policy.
How often we update
Florida pricing and code requirements change, so we review cost assumptions and references on a recurring basis and update tools as needed. Individual tools may carry their own "last reviewed" note over time.
